Every desktop app first tries to guess the settings: when it offers a manual or advanced setup, take it and enter the details below.
- Outlook (Windows): add an account with the full address, open Advanced options, tick Let me set up my account manually and choose IMAP.
- Apple Mail (Mac): Mail > Add Account > Other Mail Account, enter name, address and password; when Mail cannot verify the account, it asks for the server names.
- Thunderbird: add a new mail account, enter name, address and password, then click Configure manually.
The details to enter:
- Account type: IMAP
- Email address and username: the full address, for example info@yourdomain.com
- Password: the password of that mailbox
- Incoming server (IMAP): panel.bytelegion.site, port 993, security SSL/TLS
- Outgoing server (SMTP): panel.bytelegion.site, port 465, security SSL/TLS (or port 587 with STARTTLS)
- Outgoing authentication: on, with the same username and password
Use panel.bytelegion.site as the server name even though the address is on your own domain: it is the name our mail certificate is issued for, so your devices connect securely without certificate warnings.
Prefer not to do it yourself? Your plan includes email set up on your devices by us: open a support request and tell us which devices you use.
